Advanced Commercial Pilot Licence (ACPL) Program

Spectrum Airways ACPL Program Description

This is an approved course of pilot training developed using principles of instructional systems design, in which all instructional stages are completed as one continuous course, and in which ground and flight training elements are interrelated and sequenced to provide for efficient achievement of the learning objectives.  This program is modeled after the Transport Canada Integrated Commercial Pilot Licence (ICPL), but without the time constraints associated with that program. It is designed to allow students to make maximum use of training time while still achieving objectives in a cost-effective manner.

Students will earn:

  • Private Pilot Licence

  • Night Rating

  • Multi-Engine Rating

  • Instrument rating and

  • Commercial Pilot Licence

Unlike other ICPL programs, there are no fixed intake dates, so students can start training when their schedule allows.

Advantages over traditional Commercial pilot training:

  • All training flights are specified in advance which eliminates the undirected “time-building” phase.

  • Instrument Rating training hours are included in the Commercial Pilot Licence requirements.

  • Multi-engine Rating hours are included in the Commercial Pilot Licence requirements.

  • Students can select from 28 different airports for cross country flights during the commercial licence phase.

  • Cross country routes are compliant with the rules of the India Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Advantages over Transport Canada ICPL programs:

  • Students with an existing Private Pilot Licence are not limited to a 30-hour training credit.

  • Flexible scheduling allows students to progress at their own pace.

  • The student is not subject to the ICPL calendar time constraints for completion of the program.

  • Students have the choice of selecting an alternate training lesson from the syllabus should weather preclude a lesson.

The Spectrum Airways Career Pilot Pathway (CPP) program is
designed for students who want to acquire their ACPL + Instructor Rating.

The Commercial Pilot Program and Civil Flight Instructor Rating Program are approved as vocational programs under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005

*Please note that the Multi-IFR portion of the program is only available at our Burlington campus.
