Flight Over Halton

High School FlightEvery year Spectrum Airways, in collaboration with the schools of the surrounding area, has given geography students the opportunity to experience the thrill of flying while providing a valuable learning experience. The flight allows the students to collect data pertaining to their current geography unit, including the use of land, geography patterns, and urbanization. The 30 minute flight will also allow students to glimpse an aerial view of their school in addition to distinct land marks outlined by the teacher. The flight is a safe and fun field trip which gives students opportunities that other field trips simply cannot offer.

  • It is recommended that students bring their own lunch as there is no way to buy a lunch at the airport. It is also recommended that students shy away from eating junk food and drinking pop prior to their flight.
  • We use Cessna 172's for our high school flights, which accommodate three students and one pilot.
  • We have five planes available for use in the high school flights.
  • Our classroom can only accommodate 30 students at one time. Therefore, for larger groups the school will shuttle the students in two different groups, each with its own teacher to supervise. Schools can also book flights over the span of two or three days.
  • Be sure to book an alternate rain day due to the possibility of weather cancellations.
  • The pilots of the high school flights are all experienced commercial pilots. They are also employed at Spectrum Airways as Flight Instructors.
  • The price is $90.00/Flight
  • Arrangements must be made a minimum of 1 week prior to desired flight date.

To book flights, please call or email Jennica Falco at 905-336-4010 or info@spectrumairways.com. We have flights available in the spring and fall. Be sure to book early in order to guarantee your slot.
